St. Landry Sheriff's OfficeSt. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office

I was driving along, just minding my own business. I passed by St. Landry Parish Sheriff's office, and all three flags are flown at half mast. When I got home, I called their non-emergency number. I asked the lady why are the flags at half mast? "I have not been watching the news. Did the president die? Are we at war and our sons and daughters have died?" She said she did not know. And she transferred me to another extension, and the other lady didn't know either.

I called back, and pressed the number the sheriff himself. His assistant answered the phone. I asked again, and she said "The Pope Died." I asked her "Don't you find it peculiar that the is Sheriff is honoring the pope when his officers refuse take a police report of one of the pope's victims of child sex abuse?" CLICK. I didn't hang up on her, she hung up on me. So I had to know more about the Sheriff. In his bio on the website, it reads as follows:

"I, as your Sheriff, am committed to making tremendous strides in the advancement of our department in training, professionalism, and technology. I am always committed to staying as up to date with new technologies and procedures, while still being fiscally conservative with your tax dollars."

Nowhere in that statement did he say his department was there to "Protect and Serve."

So after packing for the last move back to Louisiana, I went to my local American Legion Post, to tell all my brothers and sistersgood-bye, at least for now. We had a great time, hugged, it was bittersweet. I walked outside to go back to the Uhaul truck, and I noticed the flags were at half-mast. I went back iin and asked the Commander of the Post why were the flags at half-mast? He responded the Pope had died." Now this is a man who knows my story. I said "Really? Seriously?" He responded "Windmann, "I am just following orders..." So I had to find out who issued the order. And a survivor told me who:

So now comes the good and honest question; Who is the true super-power, the United States of America or the Vatican?
