As of August 1, 2021, Louisiana legislation entirely eliminates any prescription period (statute of limitations) for cases of childhood sex abuse; furthermore, the law opens a temporary three-year look-back window (good until August 1, 2024) for anyone of any age wishing to use civil courts to seek justice for childhood abuse even if the preexisting prescription has passed.
